Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. The only issue I have discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. 4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a useful method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built.
